About the Winery

Matalj Winery grows from the Mladenović-Matalj family's long connection with vineyards in Negotinska Krajina. A formal project to restore old vineyards and expand the cellar began in 2007. The winery documents 20 hectares divided among Kremen, Terasa and Bukovo, three sites with distinct soils and local climates. Cabernet Sauvignon from Kremen Kamen is the best-known reference, but the estate also works with Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc as well as regional Bagrina, Crna Tamjanika and Začinak. The modern cellar is set at Bukovo within the vineyard landscape. The current official site invites guests to book tastings where the wines are made.
